Mumbai is home to India’s biggest banks, wealth firms and fund houses. The firms below run wealth, advisory and private banking teams in the city — roles where a CFP® certification adds real weight to your profile.

FPA, IMS Proschool, J.K. Shah Classes, Beyond Learning Finance and edZeb teach in the classroom in Mumbai, with further centres in Thane and Navi Mumbai. Infin Academy, Maestrro Finplan Academy and Miles Education are based in the Mumbai region and teach online. You can also join live online CFP® classes from any other institute approved by FPSB India.
The one that fits your commute, your schedule and the way you learn. Check three things. Location: for classroom study, pick a centre on your local train line — Borivali, Andheri, Vile Parle and Churchgate on the Western line, Thane on the Central line, or Sanpada in Navi Mumbai. Schedule: most institutes run weekend batches, and FPA also runs weekday batches. Fit: compare fees, faculty and what the fee includes — study material, mock exams, help with your financial plan — and attend a demo class before you pay. Every institute on this page leads to the same FPSB India exams.
Yes. FPA and IMS Proschool both have classroom centres in Thane West, and IMS Proschool has a centre in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai. Maestrro Finplan Academy is based in Kalyan and teaches online. You can also join any live online batch from Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan or Vasai — the syllabus and FPSB India exams are the same everywhere.
Yes. Most institutes approved by FPSB India run live online CFP® classes you can join from Mumbai, and FPSB India also allows self-study. Online batches follow the same syllabus and lead to the same FPSB India exams as classroom ones.
Both lead to the same FPSB India exams and the same CFP® certification, so choose the format that helps you study steadily. Classroom suits you if you learn best face to face, like a fixed routine and live near a centre. Live online suits you if you have a long commute, travel for work or want recordings for revision. Several Mumbai institutes offer both, and IMS Proschool also runs hybrid batches, so you can mix the two.
Yes. Most learners in Mumbai are working professionals, so weekend batches are common. IMS Proschool lists weekend batches starting every month, and most other institutes run weekend or weekday-evening live online batches. Batch dates change through the year, so confirm the next start date and class timings with the institute before you enrol.
FPSB India’s own fees are the same in every city: ₹1,20,500 + GST on the Regular pathway and ₹84,000 + GST on the Fast Track pathway. Institute training fees are paid separately and vary by provider — for example, FPA lists ₹41,300 (Fast Track) and ₹59,000 (Regular); IMS Proschool lists ₹60,000 + GST (Regular — online / classroom coaching) and ₹40,000 + GST (Fast Track) and ₹30,000 + GST (Distance Learning (Recorded Lectures)); J.K. Shah Classes lists ₹50,000 (Regular pathway) and ₹50,000 (Fast Track pathway); Infin Academy lists ₹60,000 (Regular pathway) and ₹50,000 (Fast Track pathway).
On the Regular pathway you complete three specialist courses — Investment Planning, Retirement and Tax Planning, and Risk and Estate Planning — then the Integrated Financial Planning course, a Financial Plan Assessment and the final CFP® exam. Your pace sets the timeline; FPSB India gives you up to three years from enrolment, and many working learners aim to finish within one to two years. On the Fast Track pathway you skip the three specialist exams and take the Financial Plan Assessment and CFP® exam within six months of paying the bundled exam fee, so you can finish in a few months.
Fast Track is for experienced finance professionals. You need an approved qualification — such as CA (ICAI), CFA, CPA (USA), CMA (USA or India), CS, ACCA, Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India, CAIIB with graduation, a postgraduate degree in Economics, Commerce or Finance, or a full-time MBA/PGDM in Finance, Marketing, Financial Services or Operations — plus at least three years of work experience in a financial-planning-related field, for example at a bank, NBFC, mutual fund, insurer, broker, portfolio manager or registered investment adviser. FPSB India also offers Fast Track to SEBI Registered Investment Advisers registered before June 2025 and to CFP® professionals certified by other FPSB affiliates. FPSB India verifies your documents before approving you.
No. FPSB India allows self-study, so you can prepare on your own. If you want instructor-led classes, they must be with an education provider approved by FPSB India, and every institute on this page is approved. Self-study suits disciplined learners with a finance background: FPSB India expects 70% on its course tests and moves self-study students to instructor-led education after two failed attempts.
You can take every FPSB India exam from home in online proctored mode, or in person at a DEXiT (formerly NSEIT) test centre — choose a nearby centre when you book. Each specialist exam is 2 hours with 75 multiple-choice questions, and marks are only added for correct answers. The final CFP® exam is 3 hours, with 25 standalone questions and 25 case-study questions, and runs every alternate month (February, April, June, August and October). You book the exam on FPSB India’s student portal between the 1st and 5th of every alternate month. The Financial Plan Assessment is a separate case study: a cycle opens on the 10th of every alternate month (January, March, May and so on), and you submit your financial plan between the 8th and 10th of the following month. You have six months from paying the bundled exam fee to complete both, in either order.
Pay depends on your role, employer, experience and how much of your pay is linked to incentives. Mumbai is a strong market for these roles because many of India’s large banks, wealth firms and fund houses have their head offices here. Early roles such as relationship manager or para-planner usually combine a fixed salary with incentives. With experience you can move to wealth manager, private banker or senior advisor, where the client assets you manage drive your earnings. The CFP® certification shows employers you can plan across investments, tax, retirement, insurance and estates. See our CFP® careers & salaries guide for role-by-role details.
